I'm going to confess something that I'm a little embarrassed to admit. My kids spend a lot of time watching TV and just hanging around the house. Now, don't go calling Oprah or Dr. Phil on me. I've heard all the warnings about entertainment induced ADHD and obesity. I know this. This is why I'm calling on you for help. I need suggestions to assist me in engaging my children in meaningful, fun, quality, indoor activities. I will show you why.....you see (above)my backyard is full of dirt at present time. These fabulous logging trucks(to your left) whiz passed my front yard at about 60 mph! Can you say DANGER, DANGER, DANGER! Indoors is the safer place to be.
So, in conclusion, please leave some comments if you have any helpful hints to give a hand to a sister in need.

I'm lazy too. I tried getting my kids to play outside after a stint of too much sitting around and they refused to get off the front step. They still have to spend an hour outside, and the rest of the time is spent w/legos, coloring, puzzles...nothing real exciting...yup that's us.
I REALLY WOULD LIKE TO SEE MORE "LIPSTICK" ARTWORK---------THAT BLOG MADE MY DAY...
2 words... duct tape.. works fer me!!!
A BACK YARD FULL OF DIRT!!!! Woman, the answer is so easy...just add kids and lots of WATER. Mud castles, slip and slide, mud pies, mud packs, bury in mud, pig pile, etc. After proper preparation, introduce your children to the fun thusly: Behold the dirt from whence ye came and to which ye shall return. Now go play with your relatives. The sprinkler that you're going to need to start a lawn can make a good outdoor shower. Who needs an above ground pool? HA!
I love to cook with my chidlren or bake. We pick out a recipe together online and then go buy the ingredients and make it together. They are almost 6 and 9 but I've been doign this with them since they were toddlers. We make a mess and since they do almost everything it takes awhile, but it's fun!
Giant cardboard boxes- cut out a couple of holes and let them go to town- mine made everything from little stores to houses to drive throughs and what have you. Check at any store that carries appliances and make sure to ask for one when you finally get your fridge.
You might not be as nutso as I am but make HUGE tents- we made them from every spare blanket and sheet we could find and covered the whole living room.
Have a movie marathon- picnic in front of the tv and watch anything you like one after the other. Set out sleeping bags or make pallets of blankets and pillows on the floor and just hang.
I am adding you to my blog list, you are my kind of blogger. ;)
