Melissa, who are all these people?
Remember me? I, too, enjoyed your blog...I think what the writer of the song was trying to convey is...the prayers weren't answered in the way he expected and that was a good thing. Do you remember when I first got saved? Well you probably don't remember that, but perhaps you remember my testimony about the way God answered one of my prayers. Jason was attending Beth Yeshua, and I thought the place was full of fanatics and very strange...so always having difficulty giving up control...I joined the Methodist Church on the corner. Our marriage began to suffer and I kept thinking Jason should join MY CHURCH. Here's where the prayer comes in...I decided that I would go and talk with the Methodist minister and "whatever he said, I would know this was from God and I would follow that advice". Remember I am a new believer...anyway, I made the appointment. I told him everything about Beth Yeshua, everything that I knew at the time and I told him that my husband wanted me to join him there. The minister began telling me that I should stay at his church and that I should NOT be with my husband. Now when I prayed, that is exactly what I prayed he would say. What was so awesome, and my God is awesome, is that my reaction to what he said was NOT what I expected. I knew immediately, without any hesitation that I should be with my husband. I bolted out of there like a flash. God didn't answer my prayer in the way I intended, because He knew what was best for me. This was truly...One of God's greatest gifts to me.
