I feel so blessed to have such a great friend in my life. I know not many people are as fortunate to have stayed so close with a childhood friend. Robin and I have known each other since we were 8 years old. We had our ups and downs the first few years. She called me "Zebra Feet"! I think I was wearing striped socks or something......
By the time we were about 12 or 13 we were spending lots of time together. She invited me to church with her when we were freshmen in high school. I decided to go because I wanted to see if there were any cute guys there.......I have been boy crazy since birth! Little did I know the change about to take place in my life. I became a believer in Jesus Christ. That's what has bonded us throughout the years. Of course, we talk about food and reality shows, but Jesus is eternal. I love the talks we share about our Savior. I love the way I can call Robin and vent about whatever is the current crisis of my life. She is great at giving me sound, Godly advice.
Robin, I hope you have a wonderful birthday. I love you and treasure your friendship more than I could ever express in words.

Melissa,
Thank you for such a sweet and heartfelt post. I definitely concur! I am so thankful for our special friendship. It is true, how many people have a best friend for life?
I am also very grateful that our husbands get along so well, maybe too well!
I love you, too....
Happy Birthday from me too!!
thank you, karen
Now I am crying!Yes, you girls have been friends for a long time. I am so thankful you have stayed close.
I love to tell the story of Melissa and the BIG EARRINGS. I know many of you pop around on the posts...so I will add this story here...and hope you will enjoy a laugh.
It was probably about 5th grade...Boca Elementary...maybe earlier...anyway Melissa would come up to our house to get Robin, on her way to school and she would look one way when she left her house...and then when she got to our house (2 blocks up) she would put on these HUGE NUMBER earrings...I am certain her mom never knew. Maybe now she does!
Uh Oh, Melissa, you are in TROUBLE!! My mom has learned all kinds of things that my sisters and I did when we were kids. One she really "liked" was that Nikki and I used to unwrap all our gifts under the Xmas tree as soon as she put them under there. We were good at peeling the tape away then rewrapping so she wouldnt know. She also doesnt know that we knew where she hid the presents.... Oops, now she will!!
bad girl, karen. maybe that is where i got the idea. i did that one year, too. i unwrapped my boom box on one end and then rewrapped it. i felt so bad and never did it again....plus, it wasn't as much fun unwrapping it the 2nd time. i do, however, have an uncanny knack for finding out what my present is before i get it...michael has learned to be sneaky...or so he thinks!
I never seemed to mind unwrapping it the 2nd time. My Mom always thought she was sneaky too. But we were on to her.... I'm sorry if I polluted your otherwise innocent ming with my wrong doings...... : )
make that your innocent MIND!! : )
karen, i'm not sure that you polluted my 'innocent' mind. remember i would try to convince you to watch general hospital after school. now, who was polluting who?
All of you corrupted me. I'm innocent! Thanks Sara. Now my mom is gonna ground me for sure!
I'm sure there is a lot that Linzy, Kathy and I never will know...and that's OK...probably Better actually...but now that you are all MOM'S....isn't funny how tricky you kids think THEY are?
Melissa, dear... I haven't known you as long as Robin has but I do know you are not innocent. Happy B-Day Robin.
Do you know that I'm STILL hooked on GH???!! That is some long term pollution on your part! Shame Shame!!! Do you still watch??'
Melissa, you are right. You are completely innocent and we have tarnished your angelic being... (WOW, can you say sarcasm???) : )
if i say that i can't stand the sonny and kate storyline...will that answer your question? oops - i've been polluted long term too....that is all thanks to my mom's avid gh watching. i dvr it and fast forward through a lot of it! an hour show in 20 minutes - awesome!
technology is the devil......you corrupted soapers. I'm only hooked on Reality TV! That's not near as bad....(Can YOU say sarcasm???) Hee Hee....
I told Robin that DVR is ruining our relationship. I can't call her during commercial breaks and discuss the happenings of the Bachelor or Dancing with the Stars! It's really hampering our friendship. That's it! I'm deleting this blog entry. I'm so mad.....:)
LOL
sorry girl....
it would be much better if you got a dvr too!
No DVR!!! SHUT UP!!!!!!! I couldnt LIVE without DVR!!!
Now, as far as Kate and Sonny go, I'm over it too!! Unforutunately, I havent seen it in DAYS!! I need to catch up! Enter the DVR!!! I wouldnt be able to work without it!! Did you see the Felicia episodes a few weeks ago? What happened to her acting skills? I think she left them at home! Nauseating!!!!! (I think I spelled that wrong....)
