Leftovers

I don't know which I like better. Thanksgiving Day or the days that follow. I love eating the leftovers. I'm not normally much of a leftover person, but for some reason, some of the fare from Thursday seems to taste better on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I don't really go for the Turkey, reheated, but everything else is yummy!!!
I usually make a Turkey Noodle Soup with my leftover turkey and this year we had ham, too. I made the most delicious ham and bean soup! I didn't have to add any seasoning to it. The bone from the ham had so much flavor on it's own. I did add lima beans, mixed veggies, potatoes, and some onion. We ate it with cornbread for supper last night.
What do you do with your leftovers? Anything different? I'd love to hear.....

I love left over Thanksgiving goodies too. I especially love the turkey for sandwiches. I put my ham bone and so extra ham in the freezer so I can make lima beans and ham when it gets a little cooler. Most of my left over veggies and bread went to the cows yesterday and they seemed thankful :)

My hambone is frozen too. Hmmm turkey quesadillas...I still have a little turkey left, do you think it's still safe to eat? I so enjoyed my leftovers as is...though I had to get some Glory Foods canned sweat potatoes to add to our meals.

Lentil Soup is a must anytime there's a ham bone on the loose!! That comes from my Gram. She made it all the time, especially for New Year's eve. We did the whole penny under the bowl at midnight thing.. And as for the turkey.. it's all about sandwiches in my house. Loads of mayo and salt & pepper on "bad for you" white bread. It's no wonder I had to wear my hubby's belt today.. For some reason, mine no longer goes all the way around... hmmmmmmmm

Yeah, oinker is a perfect description.. For the first 30 years of my life, I ate anything I wanted and couldnt gain weight if I tried... Then BAM!!! It is all catching up with me...Over 20 lbs in the past 10 months... Not good. I have NO CLOTHES!!!

I wish I could wear my husbands belts!!! Can I get an amen, Robin?

amen, sista!
actually, i probably could wear michael's belt...around my neck or possibly around one of my legs or maybe my calf....
but really, i have no need for a belt. most of my pants are elastic waist or are tight enough where i don't need a belt...and i certainly don't tuck anything in.
