Resolution

Okay, I know it's a little early for a "New Year's" resolution, but reading Mr. Chambers this morning has again reminded me why I started this blog. I'm still the same fat blogger I was when I started. Robin and I were talking the other night, and she mentioned how much money we have in our Weigh Wednesday account. We have been putting $5 each away weekly for over 20 weeks. You do the math. It's not a fortune, but what, in weight loss, do we have to show for it? I need to reevaluate why I decided to do this. In the beginning, I don't think it had anything to do with my body being a "temple of the Holy Spirit." I just wanted to be thin and healthy. My motivation was wrong. There is nothing wrong with being thin and healthy, but if I'm not doing this to bring glory and honor to my Father in Heaven, it's really in vain. My Utmost For His Highest says, "I must exhibit in my own body the life of the Lord Jesus, not mysteriously or secretly, but openly and boldly. "I discipline my body and bring it into subjection . . ." ( 1 Corinthians 9:27 ). Every Christian can have his body under absolute control for God." Is this me? Not quite! Not hardly! God has given me the honored responsibility of my "temple."
I am going to give time in prayer today to seriously evaluate what I plan to do with the conviction Christ has placed on my heart today. What about you?

okay, okay.....i'm in agreement. what the heck happened to us? really, is it that hard to lose weight? don't they say it takes more energy to frown than smile? i think it probably takes more engergy to gain weight than lose. just think...you don't have to exert any energy to get up off the couch to get a snack...just stay on the couch!
i'm with ya sista....we're going to feel great in 2008 because we will be wearing a size 8....well, maybe not the size 8 part....

I'm with you Mrs. Melissa! If people can use their bodies to bring glory to Satan why can't we use ours to bring glory to God??? Bravo Mrs. Melissa excellent point of view! You have inspired me yet again with your brilliance :)

Wish I had put aside the money...I can't do the math but it would be more than I have now.

God has been dealing with me also about how I treat this body that He has given me. I've started to read about organic products, but it is all so overwhelming. I recently did a body composition analysis and the print out they provided was an eye opener. Of course they did it to try and push their detox program, but still if you look past that, there was some valid data there.
