I'm so blogging about this...

Robin inspired me to blog about something that I have been meaning to blog about for quite some time. About a month or so ago, my sister-in-law called me to let me know that my nephew had said my name. Over the voicemail it sounded like he was saying "Hi, Aunt Tissa." I thought, "Oh, that's cute." Well, a couple of weeks later we came down for a visit and I find out that it's not "Tissa", it's "Pissa". My nephew adoringly refers to me as "Aunt Pissa". He call Eric, "Uncle Eggert". Brandon will be 3 in April. Just had to blog about that. Thought it was cute.......

Here we go again...

I am so excited. I found the prettiest yarn today. It's a varigated (sp?) yarn. I love this type because I don't have to tie off when I want to change colors. I'm looking really forward to seeing the finished product. Pink and brown go so well together. I'm also working on another one for yours truly. It's blue and brown (Like my Vera bag!)

My friends need to stop having babies for a while. I need a break!

Finished!

Well, I was somewhat productive today and finished the blanket I've been working on. I actually completed it before the baby was born. That's a first! I don't know if she is having a boy or a girl so I chose these colors. I think they can go either way. What do you think? I just found out another friend is pregnant and having a girl, so I guess the blanket making will continue. I really enjoy it. I just want to learn a new pattern. I get bored making the same thing. I'm on the hunt for something very specific. Lauren had a blanket that was a very loose crochet. It almost resembled a very oversized scarf. I have found on pattern that is close, but I can't quiet figure it out. I'm not a good interpretor of crochet patterns. If you know of any good ones, let me know.

Strep Strikes Again

Lauren has strep. We just can't seem to get rid of this virus. She just had it in January, right after me. I just hope no one else gets sick again. She woke up at 5 a.m. today crying and running a fever. Thank goodness for penicillin. We are blessed to have such a wonderful drug.

I am looking forward to this summer so much. Eric and I went to a planning meeting, yesterday, for Super Summer. We had such a wonderful experience last summer and I am looking forward to being on staff again! Our theme is "Restless" and our scripture is from Isaiah 62:6-7, which talks about the watchmen on the walls. We are going to challenge our students to really define themselves. Are you a slave to the King of Kings or the king of this world? Choose, today, who you will serve. We cannot serve two masters. I am praying for an eye-opening summer!

Who do you serve?

A New Do

I have been trying so hard to find the right style for my hair. I haven't been happy the last few times I have gotten it cut. I went to a new salon today and I will definitely be going back! This style was so easy to fix. I love it. I don't know if short hair suits me as well as long hair (my husband likes long hair better), but I am just smitten as a kitten. Let me know what you think.

Happy Valentine's Day

I had a great day. Eric came home and got the girls and went to pick Michael up from school. He told me to get ready because he was taking me out. He arranged for a sitter and we decided to stay in Palatka for our date (my idea). Gotta save money where we can. First, we went out to eat at a Chinese Buffet (yum, crab legs). My choice since our movie started 45 minutes later. He was going to take me to see Fool's Gold because he knows I love Matthew. How sacrificial....:) Well, that movie wasn't playing in town and we had a free pass to our local theater, so we saw "Welcome Home, Roscoe Jenkins." It was a mildly entertaining movie. I could've done without the crude, sexual humor and language. Why do they do that? It still would've been a great movie without all that. The father/son relationship was the most touching part about the whole thing. We should've seen "The Spiderwick Chronicles". I felt like laughing tonight. All in all, it was a very nice evening. We always have great talks when we are out alone. We can actually hear ourselves think! How was your V-Day?

Winter Jam

On Friday, I went to the first concert I have been to in a long time. It was really awesome. My ears are still ringing. That part I could do without.

Winter Jam is a collection of different Christian bands who tour together and spread the message of hope in Jesus. Newsong, Barlow Girl, Group 1 Crew, Skillet, and Mercy Me were the main groups. It was general admission so we got there early enough to get really good seats. There were about 8,000 people there and over 1,100 first time decisions to follow Christ.

Mercy Me was definitely my favorite! They are probably best known for their song, "I Can Only Imagine". I'm so glad I went, but I can tell I'm not as tolerant as I used to be. I wanted to say "Turn down that music!" I don't think anyone would have heard me. I also can't jump up and down like the students can. Three kids have done a number on my bladder control. Overall it was a wonderful night.
